As we announced before, this November the Terminus appeared in the Middle-East for the first time. We celebrated this occasion by exhibiting 3 one-of-a-kind Terminus models, namely the Terminus Airbrush edition, the Terminus Dubai Royal edition and a Terminus Prime with our trademark Biceps suspension and silver carbon-fiber texture on the carbon parts.

The show was a blast, we got a great neighborhood with a fully restored 350 Shelby GT and a beautiful Tesla Roadster from the world’s first Green Luxury car rental: Greencar Rental Dubai. For those of you who never heard of Tesla, they follow the same philosophy on 4 wheel as M55 does on two wheels: luxury and finest-performance in one machine.

Though the bicycle culture in Dubai is just begin to emerge and winter is pretty much the only season that is compatible with this sport, the People appreciated our creations as much as the born-cyclist Dutch people did at the Summer Fair.

We are also happy to announce our first exclusive distributor in the Gulf area: The Collector’s Palace at the famed Dubai Mall – more info about that coming soon.

Our next show is going to be the anniversary edition Millionaire Fair Amsterdam from 8th December but we’ll return to Dubai once more to attend the Big Boys Toys fair at the Atlantis at the tip of the Palm island. The Dubai International Motorshow is THE motorshow in the region, we are proud to participate this prestigious event and looking forward to meeting the local culture.

We prepared three exclusive Terminus for this event, I can’t tell details just yet, but the soon to be published photos will fascinate those who appreciated our designs so far.

We just came back from the presigeous Miljonair Summer Fair in Noorwijk, a gorgeous seaside resort within a spitting distance from  Amsterdam. The weather was on the side of the organisers as thunderstorms “spiced” the fair all weekend, every single day – hell, one evening there was a red alert due to a monstre hailstorm – the orangeish (helo Holland) dusk witth the shower curtain provided great background for the evil-genius M55 Terminus.

In spite of the awful weather the testride was on as our bikes are 100% waterproof and some of the brave visitors gave a try in the showers. There was even a young cliente who rode the Terminus on the sandy shore and also caught the waves of the salty Nordic Sea! We were a bit afraid as we haven’t tested our bike in 3 inch deep salty sand but the Terminus took the challenge and worked flawlessly.

So bad weather is relative – we took advantage of it! (though, I guess we’d prefer our next open-air fair to be sunny)

If you wanted to give a try at the Summer Fair but couldn’t make it or just got distracted due to the bad weather, we are pleased to announce that M55 Bikes will be present at the “big” Miljonair Fair Amsterdam at the beginning of December, 2011, so keep tuned and you are welcomed then!

As we guessed, the prestigious Top Marques in Monaco proved to be a terminus in the life of our company. This was not our first exhibition but this was the one where we felt like we arrived. Not only with our first commercial product but we also find our true audience. This is the scene where we belong.

Despite the chain of unlucky occurrences  just before the event, we had a stunning show and an astonishing success. We owe a big thank you to the organizers for helping us cope with the difficulties. The venue itself was a true gem: a flawless exhibition hall right at the coast with a breathtaking glass entrance  -  this was the Grimaldi Forum.

The first day was a real showdown for us: not only our shiny new model, the M55 Terminus had it’s unveiling but an even bigger surprise, our one-of-a-kind Biceps front suspension system built in another Terminus. This setup becomes the Terminus Biceps edition – an extraordinary phenomena, also produced in a limited number of 55 pieces. Ever.

At the end of the first day we received a great honor: His Serene Highness Prince Albert of Monaco II. visited us and we gladly introduced him our newborn Terminus. His curious attention strengthened our belief that we are on the right track.

And this was just the first day that was followed by three more with hundreds of excited visitors, truckloads of questions and dozens of test-rides. Yes Top Marques was also the first opportunity for anyone to test an M55 hybrid. The reactions? HUGE genuine smiles – those kinds which you can witness when a little child explores something beautiful for the first time. This is the M55 hybrid experience, this is what I feel every single time I go out for a test-ride with one of our bikes.
The test route was part of the Monaco GP track which gave a nice taste how our bikes ride but next year we should provide an off-road test track that shows the full potential of a Terminus hybrid.

Among the fabulous super sport-cars we received a special spotlight due to our true outlier product and our commercial launch was also a great success: numerous deals were offered which means the limited number of M55 Terminuses is getting tighter and tighter.

A new, really exciting cooperation project is also in our agenda, all I can disclose right now is that it will greatly impact the design of our third series of 55 bikes.

What’s next? Our next exhibition appearance is already booked – details soon – and we just had a studio photo-shoot with the Terminus and it’s Bicepst edition so expect some crisp high quality photos in our official galleries very soon!

The Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation is dedicated to the protection of the environment and the promotion of sustainable development on a global scale. The Foundation’s efforts focus on three main areas: Climate Change and Renewable Energies, Biodiversity, Water and Desertification. The Foundation gives its support to projects in three main geographical zones: the Mediterranean Basin, the Polar Regions, and the least developed countries. The Foundation supports initiatives by public and private organizations, in the fields of research and studies, technological innovation and socially-aware practices.

We at M55 Bike, consider ourselves fortunate to support such a noble mission.

On April 14th an era will come to an end in the life of M55 and a new will begin.

The M55 Beast was the last representative of a great era – the era of prototyping.  Though we consider ourselves perfectionists, we know exactly that perfection is a mirage: it can never be reached. So we had to draw an “end”-line, a Terminus. It is a Latin word literally meaning boundary stone – and that’s exactly what our new model is. Not only in a commercial sense but in technological sense as well. As you may know the breed of e-bikes is a very young one but the rate of evolution is astonishing. There is a tipping point at which a given technology is mature enough to be shipped. We think our newest creation is this tipping point for us.

Ladies and gentleman, please welcome our first machine on this new level: Terminus.

To celebrate this finishline with vigor and style, we chose the most obvious location, a legendary Grand Prix pilgrimage site. Monte Carlo.

The commercial launch of the Terminus is due at the Top Marques Monaco, the most prestigeous luxury fair in the world, under the high patronage of His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco.

14th of April will be the first day when anybody can become an owner of our creation which we have been ‘nurturing’ for 4 years and experience the first representative of this new era by test-riding the Terminus.

In the last few months we were super-busy developing the Beast for our commercial launch and the progression has never been so fast. The incarnation of the Beast you can see on our official homepage and in the news is just the begining – a draft of the final version which we polish until the ultimate quality.

The Beast was good but we took it to another level – we belive that God dwells in small things.

The new Beast recieved a more advanced suspension tailored especially for the demands of an e-bike. At the front you will find a double-crowned “upside-down”, motocross style fork with custom crown design for superb turning radius range, produced in the U.S. exclusively for us by the renowned White Brothers. At the rear we remained at Fox suspension but instead of a spring shock, we utilize their MXR Air shock.

We also fine-tuned the geometry of The Beast and bulit in the highest quality Ergomo torque sensor in our bottom bracket to foster the unification of machine and human power, achieving the seamless hybrid experience.

Our ‘trademark’ integrated handlebar will also transform into a streamlined version for weight reduction and the board computer is removed from the handlebar and integrated into the frame itself. I can’t tell you how beautiful it is.
